What are preprints?

Preprints are preliminary, unpublished, non-peer-reviewed versions of scholarly papers that precede publication and act as an early indication of research.

New Scopus Author Profile metrics give a more comprehensive picture of research performance

Author profile metrics on Scopus is an innovative new feature to enable researchers to track and showcase a broader array of metrics about their research performance. These metrics go beyond traditional document and citation counts to provide additional context though percentiles and field-weighting; a richer understanding about the author’s role on a paper; and new dimensions such as an author’s international collaboration, and more.

Twitter metrics in PlumX to be discontinued on Scopus

PlumX Metrics are a primary source of article metrics on Scopus, providing insights into the ways people interact with research output in the online environment. By categorizing the metrics into five categories – Usage, Captures, Mentions, Social Media, and Citations – PlumX helps make sense of a large amount of metrics data and enables analysis by comparing metrics that are compatible.

Due to changes in market conditions, on 31 August 2023, Twitter metrics will no longer be included in PlumX

2023 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) now available on Scopus

Scopus has released the 2023 United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on the Scopus Document details page.

SDGs are specific research areas that challenge the global community to build a world where no one is left behind. Elsevier data science teams have built extensive keyword queries, supplemented with machine learning, to map documents to SDGs with very high precision.

The most notable update to the 2023 SDG classification is the inclusion of SDG17, "Partnerships for the goals."

We have now made Scopus Author Profiles fully mobile responsive, so that researchers can track their performance, and search for experts and collaborators, from anywhere, at any time.   Smartphone usage for research is increasing rapidly and our team received user requested for an improved mobile experience.
