Dr. Elena Zudilova-Seinstra is a Senior Product Manager for Scopus at Elsevier. She is responsible for the Track My Performance user journey.
She joined the Scopus Product Team in early 2022. In her previous roles at Elsevier, she managed the Data Monitor and Research Elements Programs. Before joining Elsevier, Elena worked at the University of Amsterdam, SARA Computing and Networking Services, and Corning. Elena holds an MS in technical engineering and a PhD in computer science. She has co-authored more than 60 research articles and book chapters.
Lucia Schoombee is a Subject Matter Expert with Elsevier, specializing in research analytics. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, she supports customers in optimizing analytical tools and databases. Her role extends to developing and expanding Elsevier partnerships and enhancing their value through consultation and capacity-building programs. She has authored studies related to research management and regularly teaches about the application of research metrics. Lucia holds a BBibl in Library and Information Science and an MPhil in science and technology studies from Stellenbosch University and has been working with Elsevier since 2014.
Galina Yakshonak is a Subject Matter Expert with Elsevier, focusing on research analytics. She helps Elsevier clients all over the world to increase the effectiveness of analytical solutions for research development, strategic planning in research, and research performance. Since 2007 she has been involved with consulting editorial boards and publishers on Scopus criteria and world publishing standards. In 2018 she created readyforscopus.com, which helps publishers and journals self-evaluate before they submit for indexing in Scopus. Before her current position, Galina worked as a Customer Consultant (Eastern European countries, Russia, CIS countries) in the Elsevier marketing department, and in the Literature Acquisition Department at the Central Science Library of Belarus Academy of Sciences (2005-2001).
Sonya Penkova is a Principal Product Manager for Scopus at Elsevier. She is responsible for the Author Profile Wizard and Institutional Profile Wizard user journeys. She joined the Scopus Product Team in 2024. Sonya has over eight years of experience in product and strategy roles, with a focus on data- and analytics-driven solutions. Before joining Elsevier, Sonya worked in the small business units at Equifax and LexisNexis Risk Solutions. She holds an MBA from the University of Georgia and an MS in analytics from Georgia Institute of Technology.
