Improved Scopus Export is ready to test drive

on Mon, 10/03/2022 - 22:41

The ability to export records from Scopus has always been an important Scopus feature.  You can export Scopus records into reference managers such as Mendeley, RefWorks, EndNote and Zotero . SciVal users can export directly from Scopus for easy creation of datasets for analysis. Additional export formats such as plain text and CSV allow Scopus data to be used in desktop software such as Excel or institutional information systems. With all these export options, you have access to the the breadth of Scopus data including Citation Information, Bibliographical information, Abstract &  Keywords, Funding details and more.

This redesign of Scopus Export functionality was inspired by feedback from our users.  Key among this feedback were requests to increase the number of records which could be exported.  Users also asked for an improved workflow and easier export experience.

Improvements included with this redesign are

  • Easy selection of the export format and range for the documents to be exported
  • Increase in export capacity with a maximum of 20K full document records in the CSV, TXT, BIB and RIS formats online
  • Raised number of records that can be exported into Mendeley to a maximum of 2,000 records

How can you access the redesigned page?

Users can access the redesigned export features by clicking on the Try New Version Button on the Search Results Page header. (see Image below).  This will allow access to new Search Page Features as well!

What are the changes to the new experience

A simple drop-down menu appears when users click on the export button

  •       Your preferred download preference appears at the top of the list
