In last month’s webinar the Scopus team brought you an overview of Scopus. This month, Dr. Wim Meester, Head of Scopus Product Management, joins us to bring a more in depth look at Scopus content and how it is relevant to you. From journals to books to conference papers, how is content selected for Scopus and how does it bring you a full view of what’s happening in your research world? Dr. Wim Meester has his MSc and PhD in chemistry from the University of Amsterdam. He spent two years at Harvard Medical School as a post doc, before making the change from being an active researcher to a becoming a program manager for (international) research funding programs in Chemistry for the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). In 2006, Dr. Meester joined Elsevier’s publishing unit where he was responsible for the journals program in Animal Science and Forensic Science. In 2010, he joined the Scopus team as the Product Manager for Content Strategy and Policy. Dr. Meester is responsible for Scopus content strategy and how it meets the needs of customers in the Academic, Government and Corporate market segments. In addition, he manages the independent, international Scopus Content Selection & Advisory Board (CSAB) and strategic partnerships with relevant research organizations and third party publishers.
