Improved Scopus Export is ready to test drive

The ability to export records from Scopus has always been an important Scopus feature.  You can export Scopus records into reference managers such as Mendeley, RefWorks, EndNote and Zotero . SciVal users can export directly from Scopus for easy creation of datasets for analysis. Additional export formats such as plain text and CSV allow Scopus data to be used in desktop software such as Excel or institutional information systems.

Try the redesigned Scopus Search Results Page!

As part of our mission to improve user ease of use, we have redesigned the Scopus Search Results page.  The redesigned page was driven by user feedback and includes:

  • Search functionality on the search result page itself
  • User-friendly filters/facets and customized different views on how the results are displayed
  • An aesthetically pleasing and intuitive page layout

Trying the new page is easy

To try the new page, perform a Scopus search and click on the “Try the test version” button at the banner

Redesign of Combine queries feature on Scopus

Based on user feedback, Scopus has redesigned the 'Combine queries' function to be a more intuitive feature.

Scopus users will now see a refreshed user interface with a ‘Combine’ button in their Search History list after conducting two or more searchers.

New checkboxes have been added to the list of Search History queries so the user can select which queries they would like to combine.

Scopus now includes preprint content from two additional preprint servers: TechRxiv and Research Square

We are continuously adding content!

There are currently 87+ million records in Scopus from 27.1K serials, 140K conferences and 261K books. Scopus is updated daily with approximately 11,000 new articles per day indexed.

In 2021 we added 4,042,234 items (+4.74%).

This included:

  • 1198 journals (+4.8%)
  • 18K stand-alone book titles (+7%)
  • 170K book items (+8%)
  • 576K conference papers (+5%)

What can I expect after submitting a Scopus Missing Content or Data Correction request?

When an author, or their proxy submits a correction request to the Scopus Content Service Desk, it can feel a little like a black box.  We’ve clarified the process and timelines around the three biggest types of correction requests:

  • missing documents
  • inaccurate author profile details
  • missing content within documents.

When a request is submitted, it is sent to the appropriate Elsevier expert for review.
